The structure of endothelial caveolae
Different microdomains were isolated from a highly purified endothelial cells (EC) apical membrane fraction and identified by their protein markers. The caveolar membrane fraction was morphologically and biochemically characterized (electron microscopy, protein and lipid assays). The results obtained revealed differential distribution of various proteins and fatty acids in caveolar and non-caveolar domains (A.V. Gafencu et al., 1998).

“Modulation of gene expression and molecular engineering for development of novel therapeutic anti-atherosclerotic strategies”
Gene regulation of apolipoproteins belonging to the apoE/apoCI/apoCIV/apoCII cluster
The major goal of the project is the understanding of the molecular mechanisms of apolipoproteins gene regulation in normal conditions and the identification of the alteration that affect the gene expression in pathological states. Apolipoprotein E (apoE), a glycoprotei ... Read More >> |
