Our institute supports and promotes SRBC 2026, the 43rd edition of the Annual Scientific Session of the Romanian Society for Cell Biology, organized by Babeș-Bolyai University, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and the Cluj-Napoca Branch of RSCB. The event brings together leading researchers in cell biology, molecular medicine, and innovative therapies.

From basic cell biology to personalized medicine during the COVID-19 pandemic; creativity and vision in a rapidly changing world.
Aim: bringing together academic scientists, researchers, medical residents, PhD students and postdocs to share their latest results on all aspects of cell biology.
Preliminary topics: SARS-CoV-2 molecular bio-pathology · non-communicable diseases (atherosclerosis, diabetes, cancer, etc.) · cellular modifications under stress · nanomaterials, nanobiotechnology and nanomedicine · regenerative medicine · autophagy and apoptosis · environmental, plant sciences and agricultural engineering · biotechnologies in veterinary medicine · sessions dedicated to PhD students and postdoc fellows.
Romanian Society for Cell Biology (RSCB)
The Romanian Society for Cell Biology was founded in 1982 as a national scientific organization under the auspices of the Institute of Cellular Biology and Pathology. It is affiliated to the European Life Scientist Organization (ELSO) and to the International Federation for Cell Biology. The Society includes 13 regional branches acting in the major academic centres and has 500 registered members. The abstracts of the Annual Meetings are published, and the papers presented are published yearly in extenso in a Proceedings volume.
Purpose: to promote and develop cell biology in Romania; bring the varied facets of cell biology together.
Means: scholarly dissemination of research – Annual Meetings, Publications, Summer Schools.
Role: to ensure the future of basic scientific research by providing free access to training for students and young investigators. Since its founding, the RSCB has grown to more than 500 members located throughout Romania.
