STROMA
Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan
Pillar III Smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, including economic cohesion, jobs, productivity, competitiveness, research, development, and innovation, and a well-functioning internal market with strong small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
Component C9. SUPPORT FOR THE PRIVATE SECTOR, RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION
I8. Development of a program to attract highly specialized human resources from abroad in research, development and innovation activities
Aims
-
The STROMA project delves deep into the enigmatic realm of apoA2 expression, unraveling its intricate relation with pathological conditions linked to metabolic syndrome. Though more than 30 years went by since its discovery and despite that it is known as the second most abundant protein in HDL, apoA2 shrouds itself in mystery and its true functions remained obscured by the veils of uncertainty.
-
STROMA seeks to inject a burst of clarity into the void of apoA2 knowledge, focusing on its modulation and the ripple effects across diverse pathological processes like T2D, dyslipidemia, and the looming specter of obesity. As we embark on this intellectual odyssey, our journey takes us through the uncharted territories of cellular-molecular processes in pathological mouse models, daring to tread where others have not.
-
Yet, our ambition knows no bounds. Beyond the confines of the mouse model realm, we extend our gaze to the realm of reality through the analysis of human samples. It is here that the true narrative unfolds, weaving together the threads of apoA2's impact on our molecular makeup.
-
In this tapestry of exploration, our approach stands as an ode to innovation. Through the identification of mechanisms that link apoA2 to the intricate regulation of cellular-molecular processes, we open a gateway to uncharted territories. This, we believe, is the birthplace of revelation – a place where novel molecular biomarkers and potential pharmacological treasures await discovery. Our quest is not merely scientific; it is an expedition into the unknown, a narrative waiting to be written, and a promise of uncovering secrets that may reshape the landscape of understanding.
